Journalism When did you start at OwlSports Update? 2018 What is your current job? News Reporter/ Multimedia Journalist About Sarah "My name is Sarah and I currently live in State College, PA as a news reporter for WJAC (NBC affiliate). I owe all of my success to OwlSports Update and Matt Fine #TrustTheFine. I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in this field, but it wasn’t until my junior year of college that I took a chance and became a part of the OSU family. I remember having a conversation with Matt prior to registering for the class about how this is a very intense/fast paced class and he tried explaining how most people volunteer first...but if you know me, you know I can’t take no for an answer. So, I joined the class right away, and quickly worked my way up to an anchor position after just one semester with the OSU crew. This experience is why I am where I am today--I have multiple National Awards and Emmy Nominations, and I landed a job right out of college just across the state. I hope one day to make it back to where it all began in Philadelphia." Favorite Memory with OwlSports Update? "My favorite memory is first finding out about OSU at the Mid-Atlantic Emmys back in 2017. I was sitting at a different Temple table than my mom (yes, I brought my mom to the Emmys) and I received a text from her asking me to come to her table quickly. She then introduced me to Matt Fine, and Tracy Yatsko, and explained they are part of the sports show at Temple. Knowing I wanted to pursue a career in sports, I put on my brave face and told Matt I’d see him next semester." Social Media Handle: @sarahmettstv |
