Journalism When did you start at OwlSports Update? 2013 What is your current job? Digital Sports Reporter for WTEN in Albany, NY About Jared "After a fantastic four years at Temple University with a wonderful group of people in OSU, I moved out to Springfield, IL to start my career with Channel1450.com, a digital media outlet covering local high school sports in Central Illinois. After two and a half awesome years in the Midwest, I moved from one capital to another, taking a role with WTEN in Albany, NY to become their Digital Sports Reporter. Now reporting on local high school, college and pro sports in the Capital Region, I have been here since July 2020 and am loving this new opportunity!" Favorite Memory with OwlSports Update? "No doubt when Matt would bring in pizza for the final day of a semester and we all would talk shop. The experience you gain working with OwlSports is immeasurable and will undoubtedly prepare you for a career in sports broadcasting, but at the end of the day the most valuable thing you can take away from OSU is the relationships you build along the way. Those moments of getting together to talk about whatever may be on our minds, whether it was a Temple football game or what we did the previous weekend, will always have a gigantic impact on my Temple experience. I have lifelong friends thanks to Studio 3." Social Media Handle: @JaredL_Phillips (Twitter) |
